MERA technician repairing equipment

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

MERA is a trusted, vetted network of independent medical and laboratory equipment service providers, delivering seamless nationwide coverage for our clients. All service activity is centrally managed through MERA’s ISO 9001:2015 certified national call center ensuring consistent quality and dependable service everywhere.

MERA isn’t a single company with direct technicians. It’s a community of seasoned independent service providers, with each MERA-approved technician employed by a local MERA Member (MERAffiliate).

MERA delivers coast-to-coast coverage with 90+ service locations across the U.S. and Canada, supported by a skilled team of approximately 300 field technicians. We proudly serve all 50 U.S. states and every Canadian province and territory, ensuring reliable, high-quality service wherever our partners need us.

Technicians are hired with the requisite electronic and computer training from universities, technical schools or military education (with real-world experience). Field Service training to professionally support your customers is provided by the local MERA offices.

Product training, required by a client to service its devices, is typically accomplished using one or more of the following models:

  • Manufacturer/ OEM training (identical to manufacturer’s direct employee training).
  • MERA’s national training event (MERAcademy) in which clients train MERA technicians from requested and designated geographies, often in multiple classes.
  • Regional field training, targeted to each client’s specific service needs and often at a customer site.
  • Online/webinar training.

Following contract signature, each new partner is seamlessly onboarded through MERA’s structured client onboarding process. During this phase, we define client-specific service protocols to align with their operational requirements making for a smooth integration into their existing service model.

Service calls are routed to MERA through our clients’ internal processes and quickly dispatched to the nearest trained technician. Each service event is centrally tracked and reported, ensuring clients are informed at every stage from initial dispatch to final resolution.
